Lyda Morehouse

It was
announced Friday, March 25th, 2005, at
Norwescon 28, in SeaTac, Washington,
that the winner for the distinguished original science
fiction paperback published for the first time during
2004 in the U.S.A. was
Life by Gwyneth Jones (Aqueduct
Press). Special
citation was given to
Apocalypse Array
by Lyda Morehouse (Roc).
Part of Science
Fiction’s Triple Crown of the Hugo, the Nebula, and the
Philip K. Dick awards, the Philip K. Dick award is
presented annually for distinguished science fiction
published in paperback original form in the United
States. Founded by Thomas M. Disch, following Philip K.
Dick’s death at age 53 in 1982, the Philip K. Dick
awards are owned as a non-profit award by the
Philadelphia Science Fiction Society, and presented at
an annual ceremony at Norwescon. |

Each year five judges
deliberate and choose nominees that are announced in
January. The winners are announced in late March or
early April at a ceremony at Norwescon. The judges then
nominate their own successors. Only writers or academics
are eligible to be judges.
Apocalypse Array
is the 4th book in the “Angel Link” series by Lyda
Morehouse. The other three books of the series being
Archangel Protocol,
Fallen Host, and
Messiah Node.
Lyda is one of MISFITS
original
Authors in the
Schools
authors, and has lived
in the Twin Cities since 1985. A permanent resident of
St. Paul, MN, Lyda is an active member in the science
fiction community.
