Author Recognition

Lyda Morehouse
It was announced Friday, March 25th, 2005, at Norwescon 28, in SeaTac, Washington, that the winner for the distinguished original science fiction paperback published for the first time during 2004 in the U.S.A. was Life by Gwyneth Jones (Aqueduct Press).

Special citation was given to Apocalypse Array by Lyda Morehouse (Roc).

Part of Science Fiction’s Triple Crown of the Hugo, the Nebula, and the Philip K. Dick awards, the Philip K. Dick award is presented annually for distinguished science fiction published in paperback original form in the United States. Founded by Thomas M. Disch, following Philip K. Dick’s death at age 53 in 1982, the Philip K. Dick awards are owned as a non-profit award by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society, and presented at an annual ceremony at Norwescon.

Each year five judges deliberate and choose nominees that are announced in January. The winners are announced in late March or early April at a ceremony at Norwescon. The judges then nominate their own successors. Only writers or academics are eligible to be judges.

Apocalypse Array is the 4th book in the “Angel Link” series by Lyda Morehouse. The other three books of the series being Archangel Protocol, Fallen Host, and Messiah Node.

Lyda is one of MISFITS original Authors in the Schools authors, and has lived in the Twin Cities since 1985. A permanent resident of St. Paul, MN, Lyda is an active member in the science fiction community.

MISFITS congratulates Lyda Morehouse on this prestigious recognition!
