Current Officers
We'd like to thank Erica for all her efforts and hard work over the past year! She has chosen to step down as officer in order to plan her wedding and we wish her all the best!!!!Officer Job Descriptions President Article VI, Section 5 The president acts as a de facto member of the MISFITS board during his or her term. They have full voting rights of all MISFITS issues and act as the tie breaker if an issue is deadlocked. They are expected to attend all MISFITS board meetings to ensure that the board has full knowledge of the workings of the organization. Twice a year, in July and January, the board and president will set priorities for the organization. The president is responsible for communicating these priorities to the rest of the MISFITS officers and staff at the next MISFITS meeting. They are also responsible for tracking success on these priorities. The president is expected to assist the board in finding potential officer candidates. He or she is also responsible for finding volunteers to fill any staff positions that are determined to report directly to the president (determined by the officers and staff). Oversees: Web Site, Google Groups, Writing Contest, In the Schools
Vice President Article VI, Section 6 In the absence of the president, the vice president is expected to perform all functions of the president. In addition, the vice president is responsible for overseeing the clubs and events currently offered by the MISFITS organization. Oversees: Clubs, Membership List, Office Organization
Secretary Article VI, Section 7 The secretary is responsible for recording minutes at all MISFITS meetings. They are also responsible for booking meeting locations and informing the MISFITS staff, membership and board of the meeting time and location. If any new club or event is suggested, it is the responsibility of the secretary to ensure that nothing is discussed publicly until the board has a chance to approve the new idea. Treasurer Article VI, Section 8 The Treasurer is responsible for setting the MISFITS budget on a yearly basis. He or she also controls the MISFITS bank account and ensures that all departments and staff are remaining on budget. Oversees: Budget, In the Schools
